Kathy and Rachel have a lifetime friendship and spend every holiday together! They both have always
been passionate about animals. Their own dogs, Mango and Rama, have become a muse for them.
Kathy had an idea one day, I want to make dog bandanas. She and her mother started with simple
designs, cutting fabric into triangles and stitching colorful patterns. Each bandana was made with care,
the stitches carefully sewn. They loved the idea of spreading joy to both dogs and their owners with
something small, handmade, and full of love!
Rachel shared their love for sewing and crafting, and when she saw the dog bandanas, she was
hooked. “We should take these to the local markets,” Rachel said. “People love handmade items. Plus,
who doesn’t want their dog to look adorable?”
Soon, the three of them were a team! Kathy picked out bright fabrics and patterns, Mirna handled the
sewing, and Rachel had a gift for marketing, already being a woman owned small business. They spent
weekends together, laughing, sewing, and preparing for the upcoming market days!
The market days were their favorite time. Under the sun, surrounded by other local artisans and crafters,
they’d chat with people who stopped by their booth, showing off their latest designs and hearing stories
about people’s beloved pets. Mango and Rama, their trusty mascots, would sit proudly in thier own
custom bandana, drawing people in with their wagging tails.
Each bandana was sewn with love, a symbol of the strong bonds between mother, daughter, and lifelong
friends. For Mirna, Kathy, and Rachel, it wasn’t just about selling something—it was about sharing a
little piece of their friendship, their culture, and the warmth of their home in every stitch.
